This is my face. It was taken last year when I was in Versailles, France.

My name is Melissa and I am 21 years old. I have almost completed a Bachelor of Science degree and I want to be a mycologist, because fungi are fun! I live in a small town in Victoria, Australia, which is about an hour and a half away from Melbourne.

I've actually always been horrendous at painting my nails, never being able to stay in the lines or have the patience to wait for them to dry, however in late 2012 I stumbled upon nail art. I would stalk nail art blogs such as the nailasaurus and chalkboard nails, and try out their tutorials etc. In March 2013, I started my first nail art blog, under the name of the nail gun. If you decide to stalk that blog you'll see I have ripped skin about my nails and really had no idea where I was going with my nail art and I let the blog fall inactive about the time I went to Europe for two months, at the end of 2013 to the start of 2014.

I was still doing nail art but wanted an easier platform to share it on so I started a instagram, also under the name of the nail gun. While following all these amazing artists there, I had the idea to come up with 1 Polish, 5 Designs, where I wanted to show the versatility of one nail polish, for those girls who don't own 100 polishes but still want to do something interesting to their nails. So, the blog you're currently looking at was formed.

I know I still have a long way to go with my nail art, despite the fact I've been at it for over a year now, I still consider myself a newbie! But thank you for dropping by. Feel free to leave me comments or to follow me if you love what I do!
